Juve star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken of his relief at leaving Juventus, but he is happy to be in Australia, and he hopes to continue to play for the Blues next season.
In a wide-ranging interview with Goal.com, Ibrahimovic explained his feelings towards the new year.
“It’s a little different, but I’m a little happy.
I had the opportunity to come here, play for Juventus and now I am here in Australia,” he said.”
I am so happy.”
It is not easy to come to Australia and play in Australia but I am so grateful to Juve for that.”
Zlatan, who has scored 22 goals in his last 25 Serie A games, has been a popular figure in the English Premier League.
He is one of the best players in the world, having won five league titles and four Champions League titles.
Despite his best efforts, Ibrahimov has only managed a goal in nine of his last nine games, and is yet to score in his past seven appearances.
‘I’m not going to stop working’Juventus have been working hard in recent weeks to get the best out of Ibrahimovic, and have been looking for a replacement for the forward in the wake of his injury.
The Bianconeri are believed to be keen on Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele, but are also reportedly open to other players.
With the World Cup and the Copa del Rey already on the horizon, Ibrahimović was asked if he was happy with his chances at the club.”For sure.
It’s not the most important thing but it is important to continue working and to try to get better.
As soon as I left the club, I had a lot of pressure on me, but it was not the worst thing in the World.
Now I’m here, I am going to do my best and I will try to be better.
“The first game was very important for me.
But it was very difficult.
For sure, I’m not thinking about it too much.
When you are playing in this league, everything is important.
You have to try your best.
All the players are doing their best, they are working hard, so I hope that I can keep playing well and help Juventus.
If I can help them, I’ll be very happy.”
‘We’re all happy to see Ibrahimovic’ After Ibrahimovic’s comments, the 23-year-old was asked how he felt about his future.
“I think we’re all very happy to have him here.
There’s a lot for us to work on, so hopefully he can get better,” he replied.
However, he added that the club would not be giving up on him.
“[Juve] have a lot to play [for], so we are all very excited to see him here.”
More to come…
