Landon Doyle’s final day at the San Jose Earthquake Response Team was Wednesday, according to a report.
Donovan will officially retire from the Earthquakes after spending the last seven years with the club.
He made his Earthquakes debut with the team in 2012 and played in all 50 regular season games.
Donovan made a total of 22 appearances in MLS, but didn’t make the team’s opening-day roster because he was out with a stress reaction to a torn ligament in his right thumb.
He also missed the final two regular season matches due to a hamstring injury.
The Earthquakes’ most recent match was on July 31, 2018, against the New York Red Bulls, which was Donovan’s final game with the Earthquakers.
