People are increasingly using their smartphones to get around town.
Now there are a few options to choose from: flat footwear, which look sleek and functional and have a trendy, high-fashion look, or flat shoes, which are simple, comfortable, and can be worn without shoes.
But you won’t be able to buy your next pair of flat shoes online in Pakistan, at least not yet.
That is because Pakistan is not a full member of the OECD’s “Digital Agenda” — a digital trade agreement, like those with the EU, China, Japan, and the US.
In fact, the government has yet to formally sign the deal, though it is expected to be completed by 2019.
The US has signed a similar agreement with Bangladesh.
That could be a big factor in why the US is so keen to expand its own digital presence, and why Pakistan has been reluctant to join the pact.
The other major reason is the cost.
Pakistan has a population of just over 4.5 million and has a per capita income of about $1,500.
That makes it the world’s sixth-largest economy, after China, India, India and Brazil.
However, there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of education and other infrastructure.
A study published by the World Bank in January showed that Pakistan ranked last in the global competitiveness index, which measures how well countries are doing on the global stage, among other measures.
This means that there is a lot more work to do in Pakistan to attract foreign direct investment.
